How to reach Bratislava

Bratislava is accessible by plane (airport Bratislava, Slovakia or airport Vienna, Austria), by train or by bus.

If you arrive at Vienna airport use direct buses (less than 1 hour). They depart approx. every 30 min. from bus stop No.4 at the Vienna airport exit. Buses of 2 companies can be selected depending on your arrival time:

• Eurolines Slovakia, see http://www.eurolines.sk/en.html. Busses arrive at Bratislava Bus station. Ticket (7.70€, students and seniors 6.90€, 1€ for big luggage) can be bought from the driver.

• Blaguss Slovakia, see http://www.blaguss.sk/pages/en/timetables.php?lang=EN. Buses travel up to the Bratislava airport. Ticket (7.50 €) can be bought from the driver.

If you arrive by plane in Bratislava use city bus No. 61 to get to the central railway station (25 minutes). Ticket (0.90 Euro) has to be bought in advance in kiosk or ticket vendor and marked immediately after entering the bus.

If you arrive in Bratislava by train use the Central railway station (Bratislava - hlavná stanica), if you arrive by bus, travel until the Central bus station (Autobusová stanica Bratislava).

Conference buses from Bratislava to Smolenice and back

Conference buses are free of charge for those who make reservation in the registration form. They will be organized:

• from Bratislava to Smolenice on May 24, 2015
    - at 14:30 from the Institute of Measurement Science SAS (Bratislava, Dúbravská cesta 9)
    - at 15:00 from the Central railway station in Bratislava (Bratislava - hlavná stanica)
    - at 15:30 from the Central bus station in Bratislava (Autobusová stanica Bratislava)

• from Smolenice to Bratislava on May 28, 2015
    - departure at 13:00 from the Smolenice castle.
    - expected arrival at the Bratislava Central railway station at 14:30
    - expected arrival at the Bratislava Central bus station at 15:00

Public transport from Bratislava to Smolenice

If you do not use the conference buses Smolenice can be easily reached from Bratislava by bus or by taxi (60 km). The buses from Bratislava (central bus station) to Smolenice can be found here: http://cp.atlas.sk/bus/spojenie/.  The bus stop in Smolenice is about 1 km from the castle. Smolenice can be reached also by train from Bratislava to Trnava and from Trnava to Smolenice. However, the railway station in Smolenice is about 3 km from the castle.
